LIIAR/Textual Analysis Album 2

Yellowcard - Lights and Sounds

The second album I am going to look at in some detail is 'Lights and Sounds' by the Pop Punk/Alternative Rock band 'Yellowcard'. I decided that I would like to analyse this album in more detail because of the fact that this band used to be in the Pop Punk genre, but then later changed their sound to Alternative Rock - either way, I personally like and generally listen to both of these genres, but I wanted to analyse the album in more detail to see how and if the artist had changed when they changed their sound. Below you will be able to see that I have analysed the different conventions of the album, looked at each panel in some detail and also given a LIIAR analysis of the album which I think has helped me in learning more about albums and how they are presented and portrayed.

Similar to before, the first thing I decided to do was identify all of the different conventions of the album which can be seen in the slideshow presented below. Here is the slideshow I created:

After I had looked at all the various conventions included on the album, I then decided to look at them in more detail and explain the effects they have on the audience. I was able to do this by looking at each panel in some detail to see how certain features have been presented and how the album has been made to appeal to its intended target audience which has been demonstrated in a presentation that can be found below.

Here is the presentation I created:

Once I had looked at the different panels on the album in some detail I then wanted to complete a LIIAR analysis of the album to ensure that I had looked at the album in as much detail as possible. Again, a lot of what I have previously mentioned has been included in this analysis due to the fact that the majority of the features on the album have been used for the same reasons. This LIAR analysis has been demonstrated on a presentation which can be found below.
